  • Specializing in designing and building custom homes, we also build our standard home packages for buyers that want a pre-finished new home.
  • Home designs are completed in house to help control costs and quality. Plans are designed one on one with the buyer so each plan becomes the custom home they desire.

Doug is a third generation builder who has personally performed many of the tasks involved in building a home.

Growing up Doug worked on many homes for his father as a sider, framer, remodeler and more. He knows down to the smallest detail what it takes to make a floor plan work. This coupled with a Management Degree from WSU and a background in architecture and engineering makes him qualified to design your home from the ground up if necessary.

His main goal in any home he builds is to marry quality, efficiency, and affordability to achieve balance.

Prairie Construction, Inc.

Owner: Dan Rexroat

Dan Rexroat has enjoyed a lifetime interest in the construction business, becoming a licensed general contractor in 1991. Preferring the small town lifestyle, he has concentrated most of his activity in the communities of Rose Hill, Valley Center, Newton, Maize and Sedgwick, as well as numerous custom homes in the more rural areas of Sedgwick, Butler and Harvey counties.

Dan is a member of the Wichita Area Builders Association and active in the Riverlawn Christian Church. He grew up in Rose Hill and attended all twelve years of school there. After high school he attended Wichita State University, earning a bachelors degree in Business administration. Currently living in Valley Center, Dan and his wife Barbara have two grown daughters and one son-in-law, Derek, who works for Prairie Construction when he isn't farming.

Each of Dan's homes include both the most time tested and proven elements of construction, as well as the best of the newer features that he would want and expect in a home of his own. Mike Drumright grew up in Valley Center, Kansas, a small bedroom community northwest of Wichita. He attended Valley Center schools, played baseball and attended Wichita State University on a baseball scholarship. Mike graduated with a BS in Liberal Arts, but followed his love for baseball playing professional ball for nine years. He played for Detroit, Florida, Boston, and Baltimore.

Upon retiring from his professional baseball career and returning to Wichita, he invested with a contractor to have a duplex project built. Mike realized that the project was not going too well and had to take over the job. He learned many invaluable lessons from his first business venture, mostly from the side of the homeowner. He also realized that he enjoyed construction and decided start a home building business based on honesty, respect, and doing right by the customer.

After running his own home building business for several years, Mike had the opportunity to combine resources and experience with a local residential builder, Wink Hartman. Having been in residential construction for 10 years, Wink was looking to get out of the residential side and concentrate his experience solely on commercial building. The timing was right and INK-drumright builders LLC became reality. Mike is the sole owner of INK-drumright, while Wink serves as an experienced coach and mentor.

INK-drumright builders LLC is currently building in east Wichita, west Wichita, Valley Center, and Derby. Mike is a member of the Wichita Area Builders Association.

He is married to Robyn and is the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Delaney and Aubrey.
